RSL vs. DC United, Man of the Match: Albert Rusnak

The Slovakian international put together what might be his best game of the season so far.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Orlando City SC Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Albert Rusnak had a performance reminiscent of what we as fans had been lucky enough to witness game after game last year. 49 of his 57 passes found their intended target, four of them which were key passes. All three of his shots were on frame, and he nabbed both a goal and an assist.

Other Contenders

Corey Baird - provided not only the first goal, but also the energy, confidence, and determination present in the subsequent attacks which opened up space and opportunities throughout the remainder of the game.

Jefferson Savarino - showed some amazing footwork in the 37th minute to create a chance for Corey Baird to snag a brace. He put in a beautiful chip in the second half which would end up being the game winner.

Nick Besler - was not expected to acclimate this well to the MLS, yet he has. He’s not flashy, but he is smart. very, very smart. A workhorse, and someone who has made the most of his opportunities, this game included.

Nick Rimando - not a fantastic performance by any means, but his 200th career win is a true testament to a decade of excellence.
