Player Ratings: RSL 3-2 DC United

RSL came through against a disadvantaged DC team.

MLS: D.C. United at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 On a night when he got is 200th win in MLS, Rimando came up with a total of five saves and was there in crunch time to prevent DC from stealing points.

Pablo Ruiz - 4 Pablo had a game that he can learn from. He was completely unaware of his mark on the Arriola goal that put DC ahead. Besides that, he was a bit selfish on his shot-taking, pulling the trigger when the shot just was not there, but his team mates were.

Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler played a smart game and was in the right positions when things got nervy.

Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad was the leader in the back and had a 2017 type of showing. His smarts, positioning, and passing were all there.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon came up with the assist on a simple pass to Rusnak and intercepted a handful of DC’s attempts to attack.

Kyle Beckerman - 5 Beckerman had a relatively quiet game, but did take a shot from distance to keep things interesting.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Damir was credited with an assist and was able to get a couple shots. He is slowly but surely figuring out MLS and how he can be most effective.

Albert Rusnak - 8 A goal, an assist, and three shots on goal looks great on the stat sheet. But he was also very much in charge of the middle of the field. Rusnak is putting together a nice 2018 season thus far as evidenced by this game.

Jefferson Savarino - 6.5 Savarino had a great finish on his goal. The level of difficulty was high. He put a couple defenders to shame with his ball handling skills and had probably his best match of the year so far.

Corey Baird - 7 Corey Baird keeps showing us why he should be starting up top. His header goal was not easy at all and he finished it confidently. He made some runs that opened things up for RSL and had a big effect on the game.

Joao Plata - 6 Plata had to come off early due to injury, but his assist to Baird was visionary and played perfectly. He got RSL on the board even before DC went down a man.

Substitutions

Adam Henley - 5.5 It was good to see Henley back on the field. He brought a different look to the left back position. He was speedy with some sharp passing. He did have one or two shaky moments, but overall was good.
