Well, if things weren’t dramatic enough at Real Salt Lake already, they sure got there quickly when Albert Rusnak told Salt Lake Tribune reporter Maddie Lee that he’s happy to be getting out of Real Salt Lake for international duty.
Which, well — that’s something, isn’t it?
Albert Rusnák on international duty: “I’m actually happy I’m going to get out of here for a minute because there’s a lot that’s going on off the field, and the people to speak to about that are probably the higher up people in the club.”

Rusnak’s full quote, through Lee:

Petke spoke, too. “Albert and I are solid,” he said.
Coach Mike Petke talked with Albert after training.

“Albert and I are solid,” Petke said. “Albert and the team and his teammates are solid, so if there’s anything else going on you’re going to have to ask Albert or somebody else who perhaps could address that.”

So. We don’t know exactly what this means, but if it felt like there was something rotten in the state of Utah — well, you’re right.
