Player Ratings: Seattle 0-1 RSL

What a showing from Real Salt Lake.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Seattle Sounders FC Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Rimando had a bigger first half than second half. He kept Seattle off the board on a couple of shots that seemed destined for the back of the net. In the second half, he was calm even when RSL was only up one goal.

Danilo Acosta - 6.5 Danny had a great return to the starting lineup and RSL, in many ways, looked like a different team defensively. He had his side pretty well locked down. Also, he was credited with an assist to Bofo.

Marcelo Silva - 6.5 Silva returned to form against Seattle and played really hard-nosed against Clint Dempsey, not letting him sniff out the goal. He came up with a couple last second stops that RSL had been missing the past few games.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad had a solid showing and was in position to keep Seattle from getting very many good looks.

Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon was pretty good pushing forward and kept the game pretty quiet on the defensive side of things. Not bad at all.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 This was the Beckerman we know so well and love so much. He was the driving force in this game and he looked quick and sharp. Hopefully he can maintain this sort of energy and determination.

Sunny - 7 Sunny had perhaps the most surprising performance of the game. He looked like the Sunny that we had right after his RSL debut. He was gritty and his passing for the most part was very sharp. Sure, he gave away a ball or two, but he was a catalyst for the midfield and had an incredible amount of stamina considering this was his first full game in a good while.

Albert Rusnak - 6 This was one of Rusnak’s more quiet games, but he did have a skill check or two that made the fans giddy. He also had some strings of good possession play.

Jefferson Savarino - 5 Nothing too impressive from Savarino, but no one can fault his effort on both sides of the ball.

Corey Baird - 5 Baird didn’t get the ball much, so there wasn’t a lot happening up front.

Bofo Saucedo - 7 Hands down, this was Bofo’s best game in a RSL uniform. He was the creator on offense for much of the night and got the game-winning goal. It wasn’t just any goal either, it was a bending ball that maneuvered perfectly around Stefan Frei.

Substitutions

Damir Kreilach - 6 Damir came on and did exactly what he was supposed to do, help maintain possession. He brought on a veteran’s experience and helped close out the game.

Nick Besler - N/A

Aaron Herrera - N/A
