Player Ratings: RSL 1-1 San Jose

RSL had the shots to win, but not the goals.

MLS: San Jose Earthquakes at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5.5 Rimando had three saves and one goal against him. San Jose did not demand much of him over the course of the night.

Danilo Acosta - 6.5 Acosta was one of the best players on the field with energy on both sides of the ball. He’s not afraid of some of MLS’ biggest names as he showed against Wondolowski.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva had a solid defensive match and had a chance to win the game in the dying seconds but the ball ultimately deflected off the crossbar.

Justen Glad - 5.5 Glad had 31 minutes on the field before he was taken off due to concussion precaution. In those minutes, he kept things pretty quiet in the back of the field.

Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon had some bright moments and then had a couple head-scratchers. He whiffed the ball on what could have been another good look for RSL.

Damir Kreilach - 7 Kreilach was RSL’s Man of the Match. He looked as confident in his role as he has looked all season and finished his header beautifully. He was also the most efficient player on the field in terms of shots vs. shots on goal.

Kyle Beckerman - 5.5 Beckerman knew when to calm things on the field and make one more pass to open up the game.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak had an interesting game. He took six shots but only one of them was on goal. Had a couple of shots gone in he might have ended up with a few assists. Ultimately he was only credited with one. His shot off the crossbar was probably the most frustrating moment of the match.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino probably put in more work on both sides of the ball than anyone and San Jose laid into him for it. He had some good looks at goal but was unable to finish.

Corey Baird - 6 Baird was involved in some great looks for Salt Lake but his inability to finish left him empty-handed in the goal-scoring category. On the other hand, his execution on RSL’s set-piece goal was quality.

Bofo Saucedo - 5 Bofo seemed slightly indecisive on the ball, but he did have a couple shots on goal.

Substitutions

Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler came on unexpectedly after Glad had to come off and he filled admirably given the circumstances.

Joao Plata - 5 Plata did not have the super sub effect we were hoping for, but he did draw some attention.

Luis Silva - N/A
