RSL takes 9 points in one week

It started off with RSL going to Seattle and taking a 1-0 win, their first away win of the season. Then midweek they came back home to face Houston where they took a 2-1 win. Finally, on Saturday night RSL played Seattle once again, this time getting a 2-0 win to propel them into 3rd place in the Western Conference. These 9 points were massive for Salt Lake and put them just 6 points from the top seed in the West.

Double Red Card in Atlanta vs Philadelphia

It’s not too often that we see a team go down to 10 men, let alone 9, in the first half. But, nevertheless, that is what Philadelphia did. With both red cards officially being for “dissent,” Atlanta got to play with a 2 man advantage for 70 minutes. This was evident in their result, a 3-1 win, that they clearly had the better chance for success in this one. Also, Josef Martinez was largely the reason for Atlanta’s wins, as he scored all 3 goals.

Most teams kick off pride celebrations around the league

June is national pride month and in response, a lot of players and teams are celebrating. Many players are participating in Playing for Pride and donating so much money per goal/assisnt/start. In addition to this, many teams are hosting pride games throughout the month. The NWSL is also participating in this endeavor and will too have nights and players bring awareness to the cause.
