Lineup news

  • Connor Sparrow is likely in line for his first RSL start after having impressed repeatedly for Real Monarchs. He’s good at saving those penalties, too. You know. Just in case.
  • The usual suspects are out: Jordan Allen, Shawn Barry, Tony Beltran, Alex Horwath, Luke Mulholland, and Demar Phillips.
  • Taylor Peay is probably out, though I haven’t had that confirmed — but expect him to be in the stands somewhere, or perhaps in a box.
  • Joao Plata is questionable with some sort of injury — back? upper body? I don’t know.
  • At least one Real Monarchs player is likely to have come up,

Lineup predictions

As you’ve undoubtedly noticed, every writer here has predicted something different for the lineup. Here’s mine:

Brody, Besler, Horst, Herrera
Ruiz, Beckerman
Lopez-Espin, Hernandez, Saucedo
L. Silva

Lucas Muller has this:

Henley, Horst, Moberg, Herrera
Besler, Ruiz
Chang, Silva, Saucedo

Jerrad Pullum has this:

Herrera, Horst, Besler, Henley
Ruiz, Kreilach
Brody, Hernandez, Lopez-Espin
L. Silva

And Ryan Sanders has this:

Henley, Horst, Besler, Herrera
Ruiz, Beckerman
Saucedo, Hernandez, Lopez-Espin
L., Silva

The best part is that we’ve all discussed this over Slack, and none of us came to the same conclusions. There’s something exciting about it, isn’t there? Right? Right.
