Player Ratings: Columbus 2-1 RSL

RSL started sluggish but picked up steam later on.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Columbus Crew SC Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5.5 Rimando had a nice save early in the second half to keep things from getting completely out of reach for RSL.

Danilo Acosta - 4.5 Acosta has to be smarter in certain situations. Even though it was a soft penalty, he gave the opposition a chance to sell it.

Marcelo Silva - 5.5 Silva dug in a few times, but also seemed to have a couple miscues with the rest of the back line.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad showed up and played pretty well, but made a couple risky steps to stop the run of play and ended up giving the Crew a good look.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Even if it wasn’t his best night, Lennon always leaves it all on the field.

Damir Kreilach - 4.5 Kreilach had a tough game. However, he was playing completely out of position so it wasn’t really his fault.

Kyle Beckerman - 5.5 Beckerman cleaned up a few Crew attacks, but was not making the midfield flow.

Albert Rusnak - 7 Rusnak had himself a game. The only problem is that he probably should have had a hat trick with the looks he got.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino had an engine and played both sides of the ball, but was a bit selfish in the run of play.

Sunny - 5 Sunny’s passing was off for much of the night. But his defense was helpful for most of the game.

Sebastian Saucedo - 5 Bofo either had an off night or his run of form has come to an end. Let’s hope it’s the former.

Substitutions

Joao Plata - 7 Plata subbed on and was a game changer in the 30 minutes he was on the field. He connected well with Rusnak and others and gave RSL a breath of fresh air. He grabbed an assist for his effort.

Corey Baird - 6 Baird, like Plata, brought some energy into the match and helped give RSL a chance to pick up a point.

Luis Silva - N/A
