Player Ratings: San Jose 0-0 RSL

Messy, but good enough for a point.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at San Jose Earthquakes Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Rimando came up big in what was by and large a gritty, ugly showing. San Jose had their chances and Rimando was a big part of keeping them scoreless.

Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera did some impressive stuff in his second MLS start against veterans of the league.

Marcelo Silva - 6.5 Silva played tough and came up with some stops that required focus and hard nosed play.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad helped earn the shutout and nearly scored. He lost his mark on what was probably San Jose’s best chance though.

Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon slipped a lot for some reason leading to San Jose getting looks, but he never let his foot off the pedal.

Sunny - 5.5 Sunny had some good moments on the ball, but also had a soft giveaway leading to the Earthquakes hitting one off the crossbar.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 There weren’t any serious errors from the captain and he helped RSL keep their heads down and work through an ugly game.

Albert Rusnak - N/A

Joao Plata - 5 Plata had very few looks but was dealing with less than ideal circumsntances in a choppy Match.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird did a good job of getting past defenders but couldn’t make the final pass or shot count.

Jefferson Savarino - 5 Savarino did his best to get around defenders, but they had him in their crosshairs the whole game.

SUBSTITUTES

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Damir deserves credit for coming on early after Rusnak was forced off. He got forward a lot in the first half and had good chances that he just unfortunately couldn’t finish.

Bofo Saucedo - 5.5 Bofo came on and threatened to score, especially with his chip.

Nick Besler - N/A
