RSL secured their second straight win of the week at home with a 2-0 victory over conference leaders FC Dallas.
Real Salt Lake got the early upper edge when Albert Rusnak earned a PK in the first half. He sent the ball directly past Gonzalez to put the home team up 1-0 early in the game, a feeling RSL hasn’t been familiar with for a minute or two.
The second half began the same way the first half ended, with RSL up 1-0 holding the advantage over the western conference leaders.
RSL looked relatively comfortable throughout the second half, keeping Dallas at bay and attacking with the right amount of tenacity and keeping Dallas on their back foot — something they haven’t been used to this season, especially with the recent departure of star playmaker Mauro Diaz.
In stoppage time, RSL really put the game to bed thanks to a goal from Luis Silva, off a pass from Savarino to secure the full three points for the home side against the western conference giants.
After plenty of back-and-forth following that, RSL stood their ground and secured the 2-0 win over FC Dallas, notching a solid six points in four days, inching closer to that third place spot in the West.
