Once again, we didn’t fare well against LAFC (LAFF-see). We began with a formation change and a five-man backline. My first thought was we’re about to get destroyed. Maybe we didn’t get destroyed, but we got handily outplayed.
We took this trip to Garden Grove, it smelled like Ramirez inside the van
There was a lot of talk during the summer transfer window about how RSL should have targeted Ramirez. LAFC snagged him. With Feilhaber, Nguyen, and Vela feeding balls from the midfield, Ramirez is going to be dangerous.
He showed that danger and knocked two past Rimando.
I’m at a loss at how LAFC can bring in such powerful talent and RSL comes up dry. Again and again. I chalk much of that up to LA being a desired destination and SLC being in Utah. But that’s not everything. Bradley knew what he wanted and he put together a spectacular roster. It’s what we need to do. Must do. Is Jake right? Is it time for a rebuild?
40oz. to Freedom
I’m there. Free. Unshackled from the bonds of emotional explosions and the chains within the deep pits of despair. A surging Seattle Sounders can (and probably will) draw even with us with a win on Saturday. Vancouver can leapfrog us (but probably won’t) and drop us beneath the playoff line. And right now every team in the Western Conference has games in hand on us except the Galaxy.
So I’m free. I’m here for the ride. Lovin’ is what I got. I’m RSL all the way. I’m pulling for this team at every juncture. I’m spending money at the team store.
But I’m not feeling positive about our chances of making the playoffs. Maybe we sneak in, but it’s going to be on the backs of the other teams in the Western Conference. We’re going to rely on them to get us there. All RSL can do is make the best of every match. Maybe it works out, but not—certainly not!—if this road form persists. I don’t see it ending.
It’s the wrong way
I’m not going to really hash this one out. I’m just going to drop Randal and Howie’s article here and let it do the talking. If you haven’t read it yet, do it.
Overreactions
At least we had a sub before the 82nd minute. All of our subs before the 82nd minute, in fact. It’s a wild ride!
Striker!
Andrew Putna wasn’t bad. Especially for a 4th string goalkeeper!
