Player Ratings: Houston 1-2 RSL

It was an unusual lineup that got the road win.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Houston Dynamo Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Andrew Putna - 6.5 Putna started this one after coming on and having a nice half against LAFC. In Houston, he looked just as good as his debut and made a couple critical saves to keep RSL in the game.

Aaron Herrera - 5.5 Herrera had some good plays to be sure, but also left a runner or two wide open which led to some good looks for Houston.

Nick Besler - 6 Besler deflected Boniek Garcia’s goal on a strange attempt to reach back and keep the ball out of danger. After that, he stepped up and had a pretty nice game.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad looked tired but dug deep and kept Houston from threatening too much.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon had a pretty good showing on both sides of the ball, but he did get beat by speed a few times.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilach was extremely dangerous in the first half and just simply didn’t finish his chances. He had four shots, but none of them on target. He was wearing the captain’s armband in this one and led the charge for much of the night.

Sunny - 7 Sunny was all over the place all night long in the dead heat of Texas. He was churning all night. Sure, he had some poor giveaways, but he more than made up for it with his effort and ability to keep possession.

Pablo Ruiz - 6 Before he was subbed off due to injury, Ruiz was in the attack and helping create plenty of chances for RSL.

Joao Plata - 6 Plata repeatedly beat Houston defenders and kept them on their heels. He just ran out of gas in the second half.

Luis Silva - 6 Silva was connecting really well up top and had some nice shots. Just like everyone else in the first half, he just couldn’t break through.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino has put in a ton of minutes lately and for all his shots and chances created, he was awarded with the game-tying assist in Houston.

SUBSTITUTES

Albert Rusnak - 7.5 A brace for Rusnak in stoppage time to win the game for RSL. That’s pretty impressive. He was angry at halftime and took it out on the opposition.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird came on to inject some energy and speed when everyone else was fatigued. He filled his role well.

Sebastian Saucedo - 6 Bofo was aggressive as a late sub and earned the penalty which gave RSL the win.
