Player Ratings: Colorado 0-6 RSL

Two red cards made RSL look very good.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Colorado Rapids Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5.5 Rimando did not have to make a save against Colorado, so not much was asked of him. He did punch the ball away once, but it wasn’t technically a save.

Aaron Herrera - 6.5 Herrera’s highlight was the goal line save with his head when RSL was up a goal. That was a big moment. He didn’t have the perfect night, but he did pretty well.

Nick Besler - 6 This was one of Besler’s cleanest games so far. He was efficient and in position on the night.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad was solid all night even though it was against nine men for much of the night.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon took a cleat to the leg but it did not seem to affect him. He was where he needed to be when he needed to be there.

Damir Kreilach - 6.5 Kreilach had a fantastic finish on RSL’s first goal when both squads were at full strength. He was a good connector up front.

Sunny - 5.5 Sunny had more of a quiet game, not to say that he messed anything up. He was good in the midfield and battled when needed.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 It’s not fair that Beckerman was not credited with an assist on RSL’s first goal. His through ball to Plata was very nice and set up the look for Kreilach. Beckerman was in the fight all night long. He was an engine.

Joao Plata - 7.5 Plata found a streaking Kreilach and notched the assist early on putting RSL in the driver’s seat. Later on, he picked up a ball that Howard didn’t put out of danger and got a goal too.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak’s volley goal was fantastic. He and Baird linked up well and Rusnak made a difficult goal look easy.

Jefferson Savarino - 8.5 Two goals and an assist for Savarino. His first goal gave RSL some breathing room and his second goal was a skill check that proved too much for Tim Howard. Savarino has really been on a hot streak lately.

SUBSTITUTES

Corey Baird - 7 Baird had a quiet two assists and a goal, if there is such a thing. He did all of that in just 45 minutes by the way.

Danilo Acosta - 6.5 Acosta had a good time coming on when RSL was firmly in control. He didn’t get on the stat sheet, but he found his team mates up front a few different times.

Sebastian Saucedo - 5.5 Bofo wanted in on the goal scoring action, but it went wide.
