Player Ratings: RSL 2-1 Chicago

RSL had to dig deep to earn these three points.

MLS: Chicago Fire at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Rimando had to think quick on a strange sequence off of a throw in that led to a backwards headed shot. He saved that attempt and two others.

Aaron Herrera - 6.5 Herrera showed up again in his third consecutive start. He had some plays that allowed him to show off his skills and was solid on defense for the most part.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva is really fun to watch when he makes his hard-nosed tackles. He played a smart game against Chicago.

Justen Glad - 5.5 Glad had a few uncharacteristic plays in the first half that could have cost RSL. The second half was much better from him and he looked as good as ever.

Brooks Lennon - 6 It’s always fun to see Lennon get involved in the attack. He made some attacking plays and had a shot that went off the crossbar early.

Damir Kreilach - 8 Damir now leads RSL in goals and assists. He had a brace against the Fire and was a fingertip away from having a hat trick.

Kyle Beckerman - 5.5 Beckerman did not get into the attack much, but he was gritty in the middle and calmed play a few times.

Albert Rusnak - 6 Rusnak was calm in tight spaces and made the offense flow on more than a few occasions.

Joao Plata - 7 Plata did not end up with a goal, but he did have five shots and three of those were on target. Most importantly, he found Kreilach on the game-winning goal.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird kept the defense honest with his speed and his timely runs. He ended up with a shot on goal.

Jefferson Savarino - 7 Savarino was in the mix all night long and created a lot of looks for RSL. He was justly rewarded with an assist on the first Kreilach goal.
