Player Ratings: RSL 1-1 Minnesota

RSL left with a point thanks to VAR.

MLS: Minnesota United FC at Real Salt Lake Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5 Rimando came up with a big save on Ibarra but then got beat by him a few times. One was saved by Glad, one went in, and the other got turned over by VAR.

Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera did a good job of making steps to win the ball and generally had a good game.

Nick Besler - 6.5 Besler had another good game at center back making some good decisions and preventing Minnesota from getting very many clean looks.

Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad had a goal line save and was in good positions for most of the night.

Brooks Lennon - 5 Lennon got beat too many times on his side, plain and simple. One the plus side, he did get forward a lot to help create chances.

Sunny - 7 Sunny was everywhere once again and was impressive winning the ball in incredibly difficult situations. This was one of the first times he seemed to be fatigued towards the end of the game.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 Beckerman’s value on the field was made excruciatingly clear after he subbed off. He makes the right passes building out of the back and repeatedly relieves pressure in order to keep possession of the ball.

Joao Plata - 6.5 Plata was dangerous against Minnesota, but not lethal. He had some good shots, but simply couldn’t convert.

Albert Rusnak - 6 Heavy legs set in after some intercontinental travel for Rusnak. He did not have the same explosiveness and clean touch that he usually does. That said, he was able to get a few shots off and set up some clean looks for his teammates.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Minnesota clearly made Savarino a focal point in Minnesota’s game plan. Every time he was about to break free, he was fouled or tugged or nicked.

Damir Kreilach - 7 Kreilach had RSL’s lone goal and was efficient in his shots. He had three shots, two of which were on goal.

SUBSTITUTES

Pablo Ruiz - 2.5 There’s not a nice way of saying this. Ruiz came on and RSL immediately lost its momentum and control of the game. He couldn’t have completed more than one or two passes. He then lost his runner on the Minnesota goal. He looked way out of his league in this game which is disappointing because he showed pretty well in other games. This was a big set back that cost RSL a couple points.
