Nick Rimando - 6 Rimando had one save against L.A. and it came at a critical time when he had a one-on-one situation with Zlatan. He was active around the box the rest of the game.
Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera played aggressive and had an overall good game, although his marking on the early Galaxy goal was lacking.
Nick Besler - 6.5 Besler has put together a few games in a row in which he played with confidence and stood his ground. To his credit, he helped as much as anyone to keep Ibrahimovic off the scoreboard.
Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad didn’t get pushed around by anyone in this game and his possession of the ball and distribution from the back were both very sharp all night long.
Brooks Lennon - 7 Lennon got forward more than usual and made some impressive runs to get RSL’s attack going and to break up the Galaxy attack. He deserves a lot of credit for finding Kreilach in stoppage time in the first half putting RSL up heading into the break.
Sunny - 7 Sunny was everywhere and he was really impressive in his battles for the ball. He won the ball in next to no space at all and found the open man over and over again.
Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 Beckerman played his heart out against the Galaxy and helped earn the emphatic win with his leadership on the field.
Joao Plata - 7 Plata went at players all night and picked up two assists. Even though he didn’t find the back of the net himself, he was involved throughout.
Albert Rusnak - 8.5 Rusnak showed his quality and his selflessness in this one. He scored a goal in the 14th minute to get RSL on the board, assisted on Kreilach’s second, and had a goal of the year contender with a left-footed volley that rocketed to the back of the net. He was really, really good.
Jefferson Savarino - 8 Savarino continued his run of form. He literally ran circles around a couple guys. He scored a goal and notched a couple assists. His scissor kick attempt in the first half was pretty cool too.
Damir Kreilach - 9 Kreilach got RSL’s first hat trick in years. He was clinical and used his arsenal of tools to score, especially on his flick over David Bingham to set himself up for a header. He was also very efficient in his scoring, making three of four attempts. He was quick to credit his teammates on every goal too. What a game.
SUBSTITUTES
Sebastian Saucedo - 5 Bofo came on and clearly wanted a piece of the action. He tried to score a couple times, but was a bit off the mark.
