The Salt: Happy Thanksgiving

Hello, everyone!

It’s not an eventful Thanksgiving in RSL world — as of this writing, which incidentally took place before Thanksgiving, though not that long before — but it’s sort of a nice moment of calm before the storm.

It’s been a hell of a year, hasn’t it? We don’t need to relitigate any of that here, and that’s hardly the point of Thanksgiving.

But I think through all of this, it’s been illustrative to me: The thing we can be most thankful for, to me, is the good people who have helped — and will continue helping — ensure our club has good people inside it. Certainly, there have been some bad seeds. Not everyone who remains is a perfect angel. But there are good people there, and they’re why I have hope for the future.

There are many other things to be thankful for. I think we’ve come together as a fan base through adversity, and while there’s always space to disagree, there’s a certain unity that was sometimes lacking that is now present.

Why don’t you tell me what you’re thankful for this year?
