Becca Moros started the 2019 NWSL season injured and finished the 2019 NWSL season on the injury list, hampered by her right leg. We’re not entirely sure what happened or how it happened, but a key player in the Utah Royals FC backline missed a good chunk of the season.
Her first appearance came in May, and she made six appearances after that, but July 12, in the loss against Sky Blue FC, Moros played her last game for URFC in 2019. In those eight appearances, Moros completed 73.8% of her passes and won 63.6% of her duels. And in these eight games, Moros celebrated 100 NWSL caps, joining an elite list that includes fellow teammate Nicole Barnhart. Moros recorded her 104th cap after her last game on July 20th.
In a season that saw Kelley O’Hara injured for the majority of the season, the addition of Becca Moros to the injury list left Utah scrambling to fill both roles. No doubt, had Moros been able to play more of the season, the Utah season, perhaps, might have ended a little differently.
At the end of the season, the club offered a new contract to Moros, and should she accept, will mark her seventh NWSL season.
