Player Ratings: RSL 1-0 Vancouver

RSL got a critical three points at home.

MLS: Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Five saves from Rimando helped RSL keep the clean sheet.

Aaron Herrera - 7 Herrera had his side locked down and handled everything Lass had to offer. Herrera does not look like he will be giving up his starting spot any time soon.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva had another quiet, efficient game. He committed a smart foul when the time was right keeping Vancouver from having a clear look at goal.

Nedum Onuoha - 6.5 Nedum showed again against Vancouver that he is a leader on the field. He was coaching and encouraging on the field all game long.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon had a couple learning moments but overall was very good on both sides of the ball.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak was crafty with the ball all game long and kept Vancouver’s defense busy. His goal from the spot was perfect.

Kyle Beckerman - 5.5 Beckerman was gritty in the middle and had some nice passes to get RSL’s attack going.

Everton Luiz - 7.5 Luiz showed again why he was such a great pick-up in the offseason for RSL. He was clean on the ball and knew when to go forward. He made sure that Vancouver knew that if they were going to get forward, they were going to have to go through him.

Corey Baird - 6 Baird earned the penalty for RSL and used his speed to his advantage. He continues to show why he is so valuable to this club.

Jefferson Savarino - 5 Savarino got forward a lot, but needed to do better with his chances.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilach was in the mix up front at the right times, but could not get the ball in the back of the net either due to offsides calls or due to the post.

Sam Johnson - 5.5 Johnson used his strength to get in front of goal and create some half looks for his teammates. Just wait until he starts a match and gets into some rhythm.

Bofo Saucedo - 5.5 Bofo came on and made an impact with his energy and creativity. It will be hard to keep him out of the starting XI if he keeps that up.
