Soapbox Oracle - Week 1

Results are in and there’s a 3 way tie for Oracle of the Week!

Oracle Scoring System:

  • Getting the right result (Team A beats Team B): 1 point
  • Each correct number of goals for either team: 1 point (result was 1-1, and you picked 2-1; gives you 1 correct pick and 1 wrong pick so 1 point).
  • If you picked the correct goal for one team, and the final result (result was 2-0, and you picked 2-1; you get 1 point for the goal, and one for the result so 2 points).

So there is are 0-3 points possible for EVERY game. Bonus games will also be added occasionally with International games, Open Cup and others.

The first week’s numbers are done, and we have a 3 way tie!

Here’s this week’s stats:

ORACLE OF THE WEEK: Adiemus, Skippyjeff, and Stu Pedasol all with 15 points!

  • Participation: 33 players. Great seeing many returning players, and a lot of new ones!
  • Game with most points earned: Toronto FC’s surprise win vs Philadelphia Union; only 5 points were awarded.
  • Game with least points earned: LA Galaxy beating Chicago Fire at home came as no surprise to most with 60 points being earned.
  • It’s still unknown if coach Mike Petke or any of the front office played under pseudonyms.
