Nick Rimando- 6 Against Atlanta, we saw a version of Rimando that is forced to get into the scrum a few time and sacrifice the body to prevent a goal.
Aaron Herrera - 7 Herrera was on point on defense and was able to maneuver around the opposition to get out of entrapping situations multiple times.
Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad got beat by Josef Martinez’s speed when he scored, but that happens to a lot of people in this league. Otherwise, Glad had some really nice moments and came through to prevent a lot of other scoring chances.
Nedum Onuoha - 6 Nedum was calm and confident as usual in defense. He helped keep a dangerous attack frustrated.
Donny Toia - 6 Toia used his physicality against Atlanta to win balls and 50/50 chances at the ball. He did not back down from confrontation.
Nick Besler - 6 Besler filled in nicely once again and had a clean passing game to help RSL maintain possession against the best possession team in the league.
Corey Baird - 5.5 We would all like to see Baird have a few chances to score, but he did a lot of other things well like opening up space and putting in the work on defense.
Albert Rusnak - 6 Rusnak probably should have done a little better with his scoring chances, especially the one he had in stoppage. But he was dangerous and picked up an assist on the Bofo goal.
Damir Kreilach - 6.5 Kreilach was the ultimate team player, making runs to open up space for his teammates and making unselfish passes all night long.
Bofo Saucedo - 7.5 Bofo had another one of his patented goals from the top of the box and was able to make precision passes all the way across the field to open the game up.
Jefferson Savarino - 7.5 Savarino was the Man of the Match with his attacking play and scoring attempts. His goal to win the game in the dying seconds embodied his determination to fight through physical defending and get the win.
Substitutes
Everton Luiz - 5 Evenrton’s passing was suspect, but he did come on as a sub and provide some defensive reinforcement.
Sam Johnson - 5.5 Johnson did not have a ton of minutes, but he did a really nice job of holding the ball up and had two shots in 11 minutes.
Brooks Lennon - N/A
