As the Monarchs do not have a game this weekend and will not return to action until to action until May 18th against OKC Energy FC in Oklahoma, we have some time to take a look at former players who left the Monarchs during or after the 2018 season.

Andrew Putna - Signed with parent club RSL during the 2018 season and has become the main backup to Nick Rimando. With Nick’s injury he has been in goal for the past three matches and seems likely to retain his backup role for the remainder of the season.

Justin Portillo - Signed with Real Salt Lake on 26 February 2019 and has been in the 18 man game day squad for 9 matches. His sole appearance for RSL ended swiftly with a red card after 9 minutes. He came back on assignment for the Las Vegas Lights match and played a full 90 minutes at Cashman Field.

Chandler Hoffman - Signed halfway through the 2018 USL season with his hometown club Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship. With 8 started in their 9 games and a total of 642 minutes on the field, he seems to have become one of the faces of the expansion side and has personally added two goals to the sides total of 9. He will likely meet or exceed the 2613 minutes he averaged in two seasons with the Monarchs.

Charlie Adams - Was signed by Orange County SC on 19 December 2018. Charlie has appeared in all 9 of Orange County’s 2019 matches. He was a midfield starter for the first five matches, but with the return of Aodhan Quinn to full heath and a change to a more formalized 4-2-3-1 alignment he has been coming on as a second half substitute. At present he seems unlikely to match the 2387 minutes that he reached with the Monarchs in 2018.

Jake Leeker - After signing with Portland Timbers 2 on 30 January 2019, Jake has emerged as the number one keeper with his new team starting each of their 9 matches in the 2019 season. They are currently in third place in the Western Conference with 15 points. Leeker has 25 saves, but has not recorded a clean sheet this season. Jake also recently announced that he had just received an MBA From University of Memphis.

Sebastián Velásquez - Since signing with Suwon FC on 16 January 2019 he has started in 4 of their 11 Korean League 2 matches come on as a substitute in another match. Still without a goal or assist in his 343 minutes on the pitch, he seems unlikely to become a regular starter.

Rhys Williams - Signed with USL League One side Lansing Ignite on January 14, 2019 and has appeared in 4 of their 5 matches. With three starts and 263 minutes he has already surpassed the 215 minutes he saw with the Monarchs in 2018.

Juan Ignacio Mare - Signed with USL League 1 side Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for the 2019 season. He has played a total of 150 minutes in 1 start and 4 substitute appearances. He has yet to record an assist or goal and has a single recorded shot

David Diosa - With New York Cosmos in the NPSL league for 2019.

Michael Gallagher - Left the Monarchs midway through the 2018 season to pursue other interests. Signed with LA Galaxy II on 14 February 2019. Gallagher has a total of 366 minutes in 4 starts and 5 appearances and seems a regular in the 18 man squad for his new side.

Adam Grinwis - Came in on loan from Orlando City SC during the height of the injuries to the goalkeepers during 2019 and played 4 matches with Real Monarchs in 2019. Back with Orlando City in 2019 he has 3 appearances in the game day 18 as the backup goalkeeper including the match with Real Salt Lake.
