Utah returned home to Rio Tinto Stadium this Friday night to take on Reign FC. URFC still didn’t have their international players or Vero Boquete due to her injury, but Utah was able to start a relatively strong starting 11 regardless.

This one started off a little scary for Utah and just continued to get worse in the first half. Just minutes in, Reign FC had Utah on their heels, but Royals FC got a few decent looks throughout the first half yet unable to capitalize. The Reign dominated Utah getting 2 goals in the first half.
Jess Fishlock was subbed out in the 52nd minutedue to an injury. In the 56’, Seattle made another sub to bring on Darian Jenkins.
In the 60’, Erika Tymrak subbed out for Katie Stengel. The game was relevantly uneventful up until URFC subbed in Makenzy Doniak for Mallory Weber. Utah had a shot straight off Casey Murphy’s face in the 70’.
In the 76’, Utah subbed off Mandy Laddish for Raisa Strom-Okimoto. In the 81st minute, Nicole Barnhart made a series of huge saves that kept Seattle from getting a third. Katie Stengel was shown yellow in the 83’.
The rest of this half was pretty uneventful. It was back and forth from Utah and Reign FC, but no one was able to capitalize.
There were 8 minutes of stoppage added to the second half. Utah got a few looks, but nothing happened and the game ended 2-0 in favor of Seattle.
