After finishing a stellar first season in the Women’s Premier Soccer League with a 9-1-0 record and a plus-24 goal differential, Utah Royals FC Reserves won the Mountain Conference of the Central Region and will now travel to participate in the regional playoffs this weekend.
Led in scoring by former University of Utah forward Hailey North, who finished with five goals, the team travels to St. Paul, Minnesota to compete on Reynolds Field at University of Northwestern. Their opponent on Saturday, July 13th is Fire & Ice SC, a club out of St. Louis, Missouri. A victory in the semifinal would see them play either hosts Salvo SC or Fortuna Tulsa on Sunday.
The winners of the four regional playoffs will meet in Oklahoma City where WPSL is headquartered for the league finals, with the semifinal matches on July 19th, and the league championship on July 21st. Information regarding potential broadcasts from the regional tournaments is expected from WPSL later this week.
