Player Ratings: San Jose 1-0 RSL

It was not quite enough in San Jose.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at San Jose Earthquakes Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Two saves from Rimando in a game where the home keeper was busier than he was.

Aaron Herrera - 6.5 Herrera was on point in San Jose and is looking more the part of a veteran all the time. He set up Kreilach nicely on what might have been RSL’s best look on the night, but it didn’t end up in the net.

Marcelo Silva - 5.5 Silva showed us his physical play again and pretty well held things down on his end.

Erik Holt - 6 Hold had a good game for over 90 minutes, but unfortunately let his guard down for a brief second and lost his mark.

Donny Toia - 5 Toia returned to the starting lineup and had a decent game, but nothing extraordinary.

Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler had some decent moments creating and held things down pretty well in the middle.

Kyle Beckerman - 5.5 Beckerman partnered well with Besler for the most part. He was part of keeping a shutout for over 90 minutes.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilach was good at getting in the right positions to score, but missed one or two or RSL’s scoring chances.

Jefferson Savarino - 6.5 Savarino returned from international duty for RSL and was their best player on the night. His confidence was evident.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon looked happy to be in his natural position and did some good things up front.

Corey Baird - 4.5 Baird did not play poorly, but it just seems like he is frustrated in his play. He has all the skills to do some really good things, but his decisions were just a bit off.

Substitutes

Albert Rusnak - 6 Rusnak got a couple shots off in about 20 minutes and had a nice showing for only playing a short amount of time.
