Player Ratings: Utah Royals FC 3, Reign FC 1

The Royals played Reign FC on Sunday. Who played well?

Nicole Barnhart: 6 - Barnhart wasn’t tested much, so she had a pretty quiet game.

Mallory Weber: 6.5 - Weber had a good game. She got up on the offense and helped keep the Reign offense at bay.

Becky Sauerbrunn: 7 - Sauerbrunn was solid and kept the Reign attack away from goal for the most part. She didn’t have any mistakes.

Rachel Corsie: 7 - Corsie also played well on the defense. She didn’t have any large mistakes that could have led to a chance for Reign FC.

Katie Bowen: 7 - Bowen played well and contributed on both sides of the ball. She helped spark the attack.

Lo’eau LaBonta: 8 - LaBonta had yet another great game, scoring what ended up being the game-winning goal in a great run.

Katie Stengel: 7.5 - Stengel finally got her first goal of the season, though it wasn’t by a normal means. She made the perfect run and caught the rebound. She also created the third and final goal, even though she doesn’t get an assist to her name.

Desiree Scott: 6.5 - Scott had a solid game for the most part, but she could’ve stepped up on the shot that led to the goal for Reign FC.

Vero Boquete: 7- Boquete played well and did her best to spark the offense and keep it moving.

Amy Rodriguez: 8.5 - Rodriguez also created two of the goals, scoring one and creating the chance that ended up bouncing off of Katie Stengel. It was an excellent game from Amy.

Christen Press: 7 - Even though Press didn’t have a goal or assist to her name, she made some excellent runs and had some excellent crosses. She had a few great chances and was unlucky to come away without an assist.


Gunny Jonsdottir: 6.5 - Jonsdottir has been coming off of the bench recently, and she’s been doing an excellent job. She didn’t have too much playing time but helped Royals FC keep the Reign from scoring a second goal.
