Player Ratings: RSL 0-2 LAFC

A worthy performance did not translate to any points.

MLS: Los Angeles FC at Real Salt Lake Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Rimando did the impossible in the first half with some incredible reaction saves but LAFC’s quality got the better of him in the second half.

Aaron Herrera - 4.5 When he was on the field, Herrera was keeping pace with LA’s speed and quality. When he fouled Vela in the box, he forced the ref to make a decision and the decision went against RSL, unfortunately. Herrera was sent off and LA went up a goal.

Nedum Onuoha - 6 Nedum was busy and did what he could to keep LA from finding the back of the net.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva made same hard tackles and had a pretty solid game against the league-leaders.

Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon’s defense was alright even if he did have a bit of trouble with Rossi. The bigger issue was Lennon’s service not reaching any intended targets.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilalch was visibly fatigued in this game, but still managed to give RSL some half chance looks at goal.

Everton Luiz - 6 Everton, once again, embraced his role of being a force in the middle with his relentless effort and tough, physical play.

Kyle Beckerman - 5 Beckerman had some nice defensive stops when being forced to get back but had more difficulty getting forward.

Albert Rusnak - 5.5 Rusnak had two shots where he got himself into pretty good spaces, but did not do well enough with his chances.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino was one of the RSL players that gave LAFC’s defense some trouble and he had RSL’s best scoring chance on the night.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Corey’s effort was there and he had some nice touches to get somewhat of a scoring chance, but nothing came to fruition.

Substitutes:

Sam Johnson - 5.5 Johnson did not have any real scoring chances, but his speed and runs opened the game a bit for others.

Joao Plata - 5 Plata had a shot that he should have done much better with, but he did bring some needed speed.

Sebastian “Bofo” Saucedo - 4 Bofo’s had a defensive lapse that gave LAFC the dagger goal and made a similar mistake not too much later. Hopefully he learns from this game.
