MLS: Colorado Rapids at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 8 Rimando showed up in a big way and reminded us all why he is the greatest MLS goalkeeper of all time. He made some insanely hard saves that required reactions only elite athletes like him have. It was a sight to behold.

Donny Toia - 5.5 Toia did some nice things going forward, but had a bit more trouble on the defensive side of the ball letting Colorado get the ball into the 18.

Nedum Onuoha - 6 Nedum stood tall under pressure a handful of times and did his part to keep the Rapids from scoring.

Justen Glad - 6 Lately, Glad has been really good in the air and that continued against Colorado. He is becoming one of the best in the league at the aerial battles.

Brooks Lennon - 5 Lennon, as with Toia, struggled under pressure from the Rapids’ wingers. The effort never lagged, but he did get beat a few times.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilalch was robbed of a goal, even though the call was correct after a look at VAR. It was a crazy sequence that ultimately reversed the play, but Kreilach was sneaking into space for much of the night.

Everton Luiz - 6 Everton was everything to everyone in this one. At one point he’d be tracking back, and a minute later he’d be dribbling around a defender. His engine just keeps going.

Kyle Beckerman - 5 Beckerman was forced to make some difficult passes because the Rapids were cutting off some of his typical back passes. Sometimes he handled it well, sometimes they got the best of him.

Albert Rusnak - 6 Rusnak found an assist at the end of the game to provide the insurance goal. He was in good spots much of the time, but was unable to finish his shots.

Jefferson Savarino - 7 Savarino was relentless in his ability to get the ball into dangerous areas when Colorado bunkered down. He did not hang his head after Kreilach’s goal was overturned and he got a goal at the death.

Sam Johnson - 5.5 Sam was not the threat that we are used to, but he did battle through a lot of physical play, especially against Abubakar.

Substitutes:

Joao Plata - 7 It looked like the weight of the world lifted off of Plata after he scored the penalty kick. Plata came on and was all the energy RSL needed to pick up a late win against their long-time rivals by applying pressure, earning a penalty, and converting.
