NWSL Power Rankings - Week 19

NWSL Power Rankings

The International Champions Cup tournament disrupted the NWSL schedule somewhat by having the North Carolina Courage vs Houston Dash game rescheduled until next month; thus there were only 4 total games this week. Portland Thorns return to the top of the rankings, and Utah Royals FC rise after winning their 3rd straight game.

So without further mindless banter, here’s the power rankings for this week. (#) indicates last week’s ranking.

  1. Portland Thorns (1) - Maintain first place with a 3-0 win over the Red Stars.
  2. Utah Royals (3) - Held the Spirit scoreless while on the road.
  3. North Carolina Courage (4) - Narrow win over the Reign at home.
  4. Chicago Red Stars (2) - Lost at home to the Pride midweek, then allowed the Thorns to score 3 goals while netting none in return.
  5. Reign FC (5) - Two draws, 1-1 vs Sky Blue, then 0-0 in North Carolina.
  6. Washington Spirit (7) - Two home games result in a scoreless draw vs the Royals, then a 2-1 win vs the Pride.
  7. Sky Blue FC (8) - Drew the Reign at home, then beat Houston on the road.
  8. Houston Dash (6) - Lost at home to Sky Blue.
  9. Orlando Pride (9) - Beat the Red Stars in Chicago, then fell to the Spirit by the same score.
