With preparations underway for the U.S. to enter into Olympic contention, four RSL players have been called up for the a United States U-23 camp: Justen Glad, Aaron Herrera, Brooks Lennon, and Sebastian Saucedo.
The camp begins Sept. 1 and continues to Sept. 10, likely ruling the four out for a Sept. 11 home match against San Jose Earthquakes.
In a club-issued release, RSL general manager Craig Waibel credited the four for the work they’ve done to reach the team.
“Having four players called in to the U-23 camp is a feather in the cap for our Academy and youth development structure, but primarily is a credit to Aaron, Justen, Brooks and Bofo. Their inclusion in this Olympic cycle speaks volumes about the work they’ve done this year and throughout their careers.”
The four players have been called up once before to this group, though that took place in Herriman — some thought that it was down to proximity for the players was had. That appears to be less the case this time around.
Also called up to this group is Sebastian Soto, a Real Salt Lake academy product who is playing with Hannover 96 in Germany. Rumors have placed him as a target for a foreign club, which is particularly interesting.
