RSL went a stuttery toe-to-toe with one of the worst teams in the league and proved that we’re not better than they are. I’m thinking that this means that we are also one of the worst teams in the league.
We’ve also found ourselves in the inevitable but unenviable position of relying on what other teams in the conference do rather than paving our own way. Only LA Galaxy sit lower than us in the West, and they have two games in hand. Colorado has four; I’ll be surprised if they’re able to make them all up.
We’ve pretty much hit the bottom of the pile.
I’d like to say something motivational like “I guess there’s nowhere to go but up!” The cynic in me, however, takes over and knows that this season has just done too much damage to RSL. I’d be surprised if anything was salvageable.
The good news is that Sam Johnson didn’t play. Martínez got a 2020 goal, which winds up being bad news because it was an own-goal. It feels like this season is just about cooked.
Please be courteous and wear your masks.
