Veró Boquete may have played her last game at Utah Royals FC. SB Nation site The AC Milan Offside has reported that Boquete is in advanced talks to join AC Milan. In August, the same site reported that the club was interested in the Royals midfielder.
Yesterday, in an Instagram post, Boquete appeared to bid farewell to Utah. And not in the usual, “see you next season” post that we saw from her last year. This year, her tone and words were a contrast to her end of a season message.
RSL Soapbox reached out to the club for a comment, receiving the following:
The official club’s response is that our players have departed from market and decisions on roster have not yet been made.
It is true players have returned to their off-season hometowns, and the club and players will begin off-season decisions.
RSL Soapbox also reached out to Boquete, receiving the following:
I actually don’t know if I’m coming back or not, I just finished my 2 years contract and the club is in talks with my agent for next season but I still don’t know what it’s gonna happen.. for that I just say “bye to Utah” but I didn’t thank the club or the fans or anything like that bc I don’t know what it’s gonna happen.
I’m back in Spain to recover for my ankle, the injury from Challenge Cup was worse than we thought and it was still bothering me. For that I didn’t play vs Reign.
