Player Ratings: RSL 0-0 FC Dallas

RSL got the shutout, but was unable to finish.

MLS: FC Dallas at Real Salt Lake Jeffrey Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Andrew Putna- 5.5 Putna could have slept on the job for long stretches in this one, but he stayed alert and ready even though Dallas didn’t give him much to do until minute 85.

Donny Toia - 6.5 Toia was sharp after RSL’s extended break. He made some savvy stops and was positionally sound. He had the right reads over and over again.

Nedum Onuoha - 6 Nedum held the fort down in the center of the back line and even made his way forward a handful of times to give RSL numbers.

Marcelo Silva - 5.5 Silva showed us some speed that we don’t see out of him very often. He played a very decent match.

Aaron Herrera - 6,5 Herrera gave RSL some good service that they were unable to take advantage of. He also looked quicker than his opponents throughout.

Damir Kreilach - 5 Damir had some poor giveaways and his ability fo finish the chances he had was lacking.

Albert Rusnak - 6 It was a welcome sight to see Rusnak back in in the starting XI. He was often involved in the final third and even through RSL didn’t score, the chances were there.

Pablo Ruiz- 6 We saw some really great things out of Ruiz in the midfield with his ability to escape and turn under pressure. His finishing just wasn’t there, however.

Maikel Chang - 5.5 Chang was involved in a lot of the build-up play from RSL, but lost steam in the second half.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird did really well to find and create space, but his ability to see the play all the way through wasn’t there.

Douglas Martinez Jr. - 4 Douglas left his man unmarked and RSL was lucky to not get scored on early in the first half. He also had a couple good looks at the goal and was unable to finish. That’s not what you want from your striker.

Substitutes

Justin Meram - 6 As the first sub off the bench for RSL, Meram did what was expected, he got the ball into dangerous areas through his footwork.

Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler brought some needed midfield sharpness

Jeizon Ramirez - 6.5 Ramirez took advantage of his limited minutes and was dangerous every time he touched the ball.
