  • 3-4: Adequate. Player did things that resemble good soccer.
  • 5: Average. The player didn’t win or lose the match.
  • 6: Professional. The player can go home without shame.
  • 7: Good. The player made positive contributions.
  • 8: Excellent. The player was directly involved in getting a positive result.
  • 9: Exceptional. The player dominated their position.
  • 10: Pele’s back! The player single-handedly carried the entire team.

Real Salt Lake traveled to the bay area of California for the first time this season to face the San Jose Earthquakes. In a normal year we would play the Quakes two or three times; this was the 2nd match vs SJE, the first being in the MLS is Back tournament playoffs (of which we’ll try hard to forget).

Who is your player of the match? Who deserves more playing time, and who needs to ride the bench.
