The Knee Jerk: RSL vs Sporting KC

It’s off-season: expect the worst and hope for the best.

SKC is a good 2020 team. RSL is not. Not a surprising result.

I hope RSL hires Nedum Onuoha in a front office or coaching capacity going forward. It would only do good things for the club.

Whoever thinks that Glad might be ready for a change, raise your hand. Again, I say pay the kid and build your defense around him and Herrera, but I don’t know what happens.

It’s time for RSL to make similar investments and acquisitions as SKC did over last off-season. Give us something to cheer for.

Who knows what happens now? No one. No one knows. What is this club going to look like in 2021? Here’s to hoping there’s something to really love. We’ll never stop cheering for RSL, but it would be damn nice to have a solid, dangerous club to pull for again.

A lot of this is going to come down to what happens with ownership and the front office. If you’re like me, you’re going to be geared up for some awesome news this off-season but really expecting disappointment, lackluster, and bargain budgeting.

I love supporting a small market club. There’s a reason to carry that chip on the shoulder. RSL needs to pick that chip back up and sling it right-shoulder-arms style. Give me something to be proud of. I want to be cursed at by Timbers fans as I drive around Oregon.
