It’s happening again, and this time it could be for real. A report out of The Washington Post this evening, USWNT and Utah Royals FC defender Kelley O’Hara is headed to the Washington Spirit. There were no details on the trade and the Utah club declined to comment on the report.
It’s the latest round of reports on the trade. This past August, it was initially believed that O’Hara would play in D.C. where she lives with her partner. The trade was never finalized, however, as Washington turned down Utah Royals’ request for Ashley Hatch, 25, or Tegan McGrady, 22.
O’Hara has played 823 minutes (12 games) for Utah since being acquired from Sky Blue FC prior to the 2018 season.
We will be update this story as it develops.
