State of the Blog: Life without soccer

Where do we go from here? Let’s keep a community focus.

Well, it’s a weird time in the world, everyone, as you undoubtedly know.

With no soccer for an indefinite time, it’s even weirder. We’ve reliably had Real Salt Lake as a portion of our entertainment since 2005 (though some seasons felt less like entertainment and more like responsibility, but I digress), and to be without in mid-March is a new thing for many of us.

But that’s not the only change you’ve likely experienced, and all told, it’s one of the least important in the grand scheme of things.

That being said, we don’t want to go dark on you until Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals and Real Monarchs return. You’re all part of our community here, and in times like these, it’s important we stick together, even if the things we talk about differ slightly.

We’re already working on some pieces to keep conversations alive. Over the next month, expect to see stories from our writers about how they got into Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals, some stories from our fandom, some updates on where players have ended up, and a lot more.

But also expect us to talk about, well, us. Expect us to talk about the things we like, the things we love, our passion projects — and we’d love for you to do the same.

Especially in this time, join us in talking about these things as a community. You can comment or use FanPosts to do that, and if you need help there, comment on this article, and we’ll help you get going.

Stay safe, stay strong, wash your hands, and practice proper social distancing.
