RSL Best & Worst Kits: The 3rd Kits

This one should come as no surprise to anyone. Real Salt Lake has had only two ‘third kits’ in it’s history, hopefully we’ll get back to the Champions League and have the chance to have more to choose from. Until then, here are the results of the reader survey from last week.

Worst 3rd kit: Average rating of 3.87

Kreg: I like green. It’s my 2nd favorite color, but not really this shade. It’s not exactly terrible, just really bland.

Randal: Look, this just isn’t a good look. The colors do not make any sense, plain and simple. But the jersey does look minty fresh.

Lucas: The best thing about this jersey is it’s a different color than the traditional RSL colors. The green with white shorts and socks is a good look, but the shirt itself isn’t anything too exciting.

Best 3rd kit: Average rating of 7.18

Kreg: This is my personal favorite with all three of RSL’s colors blending well. I own this one and only wear it on special occasions.

Randal: This jersey brings back good memories more than anything. While this is a much better color scheme than the green kits, This kit is a clean look that stays true to RSL’s colors. It worked pretty well.

Lucas: This is one of my favorites as well. There’s enough going on to keep the jersey interesting without being overkill (think the current home shirt), or boring (think the 2017-18 away’s that were just white). It also represents success from the ‘09 cup. Blue socks might have been a better choice.
