A statement from RSL Soapbox on the Black Lives Matter movement

Protesters in downtown Salt Lake City over the weekend
Kyle Sipple

This is a critical moment in our nation’s history. For hundreds of years, people of color have been oppressed simply because of their race. The murder of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis is just one example in a list that is heartbreakingly long.

We at RSL Soapbox stand in solidarity with those who fight for justice, to demand that this great evil of racism be stopped, and actively work for a better world.

The abuse of power and oppression of people of color must end. We’ve seen these evils in our own city and it is heartbreaking. A better world is possible.

Black lives matter.
