25 reasons RSL is better than SKC

RSL. SKC. The rivalry is legendary. I’m told that it first started at a preseason camp. It then intensified when RSL and SKC met in the MLS Cup Final where RSL lost in penalties on a frigid Kansas City December night.

As the two teams get ready to face off on Wednesday in the final group game of the #MLSisBack tournament, the RSL Soapbox staff helped me compile this list. Here are the reasons why RSL is better than SKC. Cheers!

4. No Benny Failhaber
5. Massive coin collection
6. A warmer location for a MLS Cup Final
7. Never employed a bald man named Aurelien Collin
8. Never employed someone named after a smores ingredient
9. Had arguably the best goalkeeper in MLS history
10. Was never named “The Wiz”
11. Actually has a professional women’s team affiliate
12. Not in Kansas or Missouri or whichever state the blue hell is in
13. Has actually done well in CONCACAF
14. Stadium not nicknamed the blue hell or whatever
15. Never signed Kei Kamara
16. Holds the MLS records for least goals allowed (2010)
17. Our red card getting player is now a championship winning coach, not still playing for Kansas City
18. Doesn’t give then take back tickets to the MLS Final
19. Far more Rocky Mountain Cup victories
20. Better view of sunsets from the stadium
21. Not SKC
22. Never had Argyle jerseys
23. Higher average attendance overall
24. Beckerman is a much better CDM than Espinoza
