Monarchs add to roster as relaunch approaches

Andrew Brody and Josh Heard return from loan with FC Pinzgau in Austria

Ryan Sierakowski, who started 23 games with Portland Timbers 2 in 2019, has been signed by the Monarchs pending league and federation approval. Drafted by the parent Timbers in the 2019 MLS superdraft. he signed with Timbers 2 and went on to score 8 goals for them during the USL Championship 2019 season. Prior to being drafted he was a four-year starter for Michigan State University, appeared in 82 matches (82 starts) for the Spartans, recording 33 goals and 16 assists while playing alongside his new teammate Michael Wetungu.

Defender Andrew Brody and midfielder Josh Heard are returning to the Monarchs after spending a season on loan to FC Pinzgau in the Austrian third division. Heard, a Canadian citizen, had 32 prior appearances with the Monarchs and will need to receive a visa prior to returning to the active roster. Brody, a founding member of the Monarchs franchise in 2016, will add another 90 games of experience at the USL level.

The Monarchs first home match of 2020 will take place this Saturday in Rio Tinto Stadium at 2:00 PM MDT. They will playing with a live crowd limited to a maximum attendance of 5.300 due to issues surrounding the current Covid-19 pandemic.
