In what is certain to be a highly controversial move, and one that brings me great personal distress, Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen spoke publicly about his anger at players for protesting and striking yesterday in conjunction with a broader protest across many American sports teams.
Friend of the site and occasional contributor Jake Simons has quotes from his interview on X96’s Radio From Hell, a station which Hansen owns.

On the team: "They clearly supported national issues, but it's very apparent that they didn't support our local community." #RSL

On fans coming back to the stadium: "We're not going to be inviting fans back to the stadium, so tomorrow I have to go back to letting 40-50 players go."

DLH - "it's taken a lot of wind out of my sails on how much I want to invest in the team - buying players and building the team." #RSL

WOW.
RSL Soapbox, as stated yesterday, stands in support of the players protesting and the causes for which they are protesting.
