  • 1-2: Inadequate. Player directly resulted in lost match points.
  • 3-4: Adequate. Player did things that resemble good soccer.
  • 5: Average. The player didn’t win or lose the match.
  • 6: Professional. The player can go home without shame.
  • 7: Good. The player made positive contributions.
  • 8: Excellent. The player was directly involved in getting a positive result.
  • 9: Exceptional. The player dominated their position.
  • 10: Pele’s back! The player single-handedly carried the entire team.

The least said about the match against Colorado Rapids, the better. Sure we threw them a bone by agreeing to drop the win during the MLS Is Back tournament, which would have ensured we retained the Rocky Mountain Cup. Perhaps the players were uninformed that this game actually DID count, or were they just complacent due to a perceived insurmountable lead? We’ll likely never know, and perhaps that will help us forget it happened.
