Real Salt Lake has signed academy product Bode Davis to a homegrown contract from Real Monarchs, according to a club-issued release that dropped this afternoon.
Davis, 18, grew up in Kaysville, Utah, and was born in Sandy. The contract, according to the release, starts in 2021.
In a club-issued release, RSL general manager Elliott Fall described Davis, a midfielder, as a versatile player.
“Bode is a player who has excelled in our Academy and shown a lot of potential in multiple places on the field. He has shown versatility and has the physical attributes to take the next step. We are excited by what we have seen at the USL level and excited to have him come in at the MLS level.
In the same release, Davis described his excitement about playing in his home state.
“It’s a dream come true to join a couple other kids that I grew up playing with in a place I call home. I just want to keep working and I look forward to playing for the fans at Rio Tinto Stadium.”
