Player Ratings: RSL vs. LA Galaxy

RSL put in the collective work to earn the shutout and the win.

MLS: LA Galaxy at Real Salt Lake Jeffrey Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Andrew Putna - 6 Putna was not pressured a whole lot, but he was there to make two saves.

Justen Glad - 6 The return of Glad to the starting XI was a welcome sight with his vision and quick reactions.

Nedum Onuoha - 6.5 Nedum was in lockdown defender mode. Pretty much everything that came his way was put to an abrupt end. He was also much more involved in pushing the ball forward that we normally see, and he was pretty effective.

Donny Toia - 6.5 Toia played smart and was in the right places to help earn the clean sheet. He also had a great pass up the side of the field to find Rusnak on the second RSL goal and was credited with an assist.

Aaron Herrera - 7 Herrera was definitely one of the better players on the field. He showed pure dominance at times against a quality opponent.

Pablo Ruiz - 6 This was much more of a role-player game for Ruiz who was breaking up plays in the middle, annoying the Galaxy midfield.

Everton Luiz - 7 You could find Luiz all over the field against the Galaxy. This was a great return-to-form type of game for him.

Albert Rusnak - 7.5 Rusnak was active and involved in a way we know he is capable of. His penalty was well taken and he notched a deserved goal. He also found an unmarked Kreilach with a perfectly weighted ball on the second RSL goal.

Corey Baird - 5.5 His touch was just a bit off on a few too many of his passes. Nobody can argue that he didn’t give it his all though.

Justin Meram - 6.5 Meram earned the penalty to give Rusnak a take from the spot and he was in the mixer on a regular basis.

Damir Kreilach - 6.5 Kreilach had some good looks at the goal that he was frustrated to not finish, but justice was served when he got the run of play goal with about 20 minutes left in the game.

Substitutes

Maikel Chang - 5 There wasn’t much there from Chang as a sub, but he helped finish the game out.

Douglas Martinez Jr. - 5.5 Martinez took a couple of shots in the limited time he had that had little to no chance, but he found a way to get involved.
