Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Andrew Putna is set to return in 2021, meaning all three players in the his position will return from 2020, joining David Ochoa and Zac MacMath in being on the roster for the upcoming season.

It is not a particularly surprising revelation, given Putna started 15 matches in 2020 as he became the club’s starting goalkeeper.

From a club-issued release, RSL coach Freddy Juarez:

“First and foremost, I love Andrew’s work ethic. He understands hard work and that says everything about what RSL is. He comes early, he leaves late. Now he’s a proven quality goalkeeper in the league who is going to continue to grow.”

From the same, Putna:

“I’m excited to be back with the organization for my fifth season. I can’t wait to help RSL on and off of the field for the coming year.”

Putna, 26, joined RSL from Real Monarchs in 2018 after being drafted by Real Salt Lake.
