Here’re some clichés. Chicago wanted this win more. Nothing more dangerous than an opponent with nothing to lose. RSL just not good enough. Chicago players playing for their jobs and all that. They wanted it more.
On paper this should have been a win, right? RSL has everything to play for. Chicago has nothing. Yet here we are, moving toward the season’s end, once again relying on the results of other teams to guarantee or reject an RSL playoff spot. But we have to do our thing. Tonight we did not.
There were some sweet goalkeeper saves on both sides. Chicago played well. Our three in the back didn’t work right. We didn’t make the right adjustments and we lost.
Onward and, hopefully, upward.
Overreactions
I don’t really have any overreactions. I don’t have much more than a shrug. I’m in a holding pattern, waiting, going around and around watching for something good to happen.
