Royal Roundup: New England Revolution win Supporter’s Shield

Noah Powder suspended, USWNT tie South Korea in game 1, World Cup 2022 draw, and more...

MLS: Inter Miami CF at Philadelphia Union Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

New England Revolution have won the 2021 Supporter’s Shield for the first time in club history. The announcement came before they even kicked off on on Sunday, the first game on Saturday featured Seattle Sounders, the only team that could have caught them; losing to Sporting Kansas City. The loss put Seattle’s maximum possible points below the Revolution’s current total. New England’s next target is setting a new record for total points, the current record of 72 was set by Los Angeles FC in 2019. After Sunday’s draw with Orlando the Revs only need one win from their last two games to break the record.
