Player Ratings: Chicago 1-0 RSL

RSL was flat for most of the match in Chicago.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Chicago Fire Mike Dinovo-USA TODAY Sports

David Ochoa - 7 — Ochoa stayed busy against the FIre and kept RSL within the margin of a result making eight saves, a handful of which were pretty impressive.

Aaron Herrera - 7 — Herrera was RSL’s best field player, and it was not even close. He was excellent for much of the game, especially in his ability to make a recovery when it looked like the Fire would have a clear scoring chance.

Erik Holt - 6 — Holt had one of his better games for RSL. He played with enough confidence to work the ball up to the midfield in some tight areas.

Justen Glad - 4 Beric beat Glad on a pretty simple turn and Glad was just a bit too late at a horrible time in the game just before it looked like RSL would end the first half in a tie.

Andrew Brody - 4.5 Brody was just a little off in his passing attempts and lacked the effectiveness needed from him in that critical role.

Everton Luiz - 5 Everton was pretty good in knowing when to exploit space and push up the field, but he got beat too many times in the midfield for RSL to be in control.

Pablo Ruiz - 4 Ruiz had some good tackles, but largely got outplayed. The Fire took advantage of him and pushed the ball up the field way too often, typically right through the middle of the field.

Maikel Chang - 5 Nothing to get real excited about in this one from Chang. He was not great in his second consecutive start.

Albert Rusnak - 5 Rusnak had one of RSL’s best chances to score and shot it right at the keeper. We needed more from the captain on the road against a team that is already eliminated from the Playoffs.

Damir Kreilach - 5 Damir had a few good passes trying to work the ball up the field, but it was overall a pretty forgetful game in terms of highlights.

Rubio Rubin - 6 Rubin did not see the ball much, but when he did he was able to make the best of a sliver of an opportunity.

Substitutes

Justin Meram - 4 Meram came into the game with a chance to have an impact when RSL was starting to open up the game just a little. Unfortunately, he left us wanting.

Anderson Julio - 5.5 Julio had one good shot and one horrible shot in about 18 minutes of play. He looked like he could break though, but was unsuccessful.
