Nashville...where I used to live...so what does the music city soccer club bring when it visits the Wasatch Front? RSL and Nashville SC have not previously met so here are some things to look for.
Nashville SC has 1 win and 3 ties to start the season. They have been able to score, and they have multiple threats. They are coming off of a 2-0 win against New England. This is the only road match they will play all season against a Western Conference foe.
As you can see from last week’s lineup, some familiar names to anyone who has followed the league. This means that Nashville not only has scoring threats, they also have a solid midfield and defensive core. Alex Muyl was man of the match versus New England, and may have finally broken out as a scoring threat.
Nashville has traditionally lined up in a 4-2-3-1, however, against New England, they chose to have two forwards up top, and it worked as they broke the defense down to score two times. This would give RSL problems in regard to a currently week center back situation.
Look for Nashville to high press and push throughout the match. They have been down goals in matches this season and battled back. They are a tough, tenacious team that will push most of the match. Look for individual matchup problems for RSL.
